As the first Housing Retention Specialist, Mary Astrid provides aftercare services for the Housing Retention and Stabilization program and ensures that formerly homeless individuals receive the support they need to successfully make the transition into permanent housing for the long-term.

Mary Astrid is a dedicated advocate with extensive experience in community outreach, restorative principles, social justice, and supporting individuals navigating housing insecurity and systemic barriers. In addition to working at Anthos|Home, she is a part-time Outreach & Program Coordinator at Incredible Credible Messengers, helping to implement restorative practices as an approach for violence interruption and youth development to facilitate healing from violence, crime, racism, the juvenile justice system, and poverty — fostering change within themselves and their communities. Previously, Mary Astrid worked at the Fortune Society in NYC on their Housing Discrimination Initiative for justice-involved individuals to break the “prison-to-shelter” pipeline, field organizing for the Rural Utah Project in the Navajo Nation, as an Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator for a grassroots congressional campaign in Colorado, and conducting social science research for various organizations. She has also worked at a ski resort in Montana, a dude ranch in Idaho, and reported for the largest English language magazine in Berlin.

Mary Astrid holds a B.A. in Sociology and Political Science from Colorado College.
